Step 1: Allow the lower pole sections to drop downward naturally. Step 2: Pull the uppermost pole section down over the inner pipe. Step 3: Apply some strength and pull the section down until you hear the silver button "click". (This step is important!) Note: The silver button is similar to the one found on an umbrella. There may be some resistance, but continue pulling until you hear the "click" of the button. Step 4: Loosen the Outerlock tab and adjust the pole to your desired length. Caution: Do not exceed the [STOP] line.

Unfolding the Trekking Pole: 1. Pull down with some strength. 2. Once you hear the silver button "click", the pole is locked and ready to use. Tip: The silver button is located about 6.7 inches away from the "PULL" logo.

Folding Up the Trekking Pole: 1. Pull the "silver section" over the silver button slightly. 2. Press and push up the button. 3. The Trekking Pole is now ready to fold up.

Outer-lock details: Unlocked position: To adjust the length. Tension Adjustment: If the pole feels too loose or tight, there is a small screw (tension adjustment) to adjust the tightness. Tip: When adjusting the tightness, keep the Outer-Lock in a completely unlocked position for easy rotation of the small screw.
